Recipe: insect bites

This treat looks a bit like a meatball and hedgehogs love it! It contains meat and insects and is therefore not only tasty, but also very nutritious. One ball at a time is really enough. But fear not: you can freeze the balls and then they can be stored for several months. Just thaw a ball next time. Ideal!

Ingredients

  • 300 grams KVV meat (optional)
  • 1 egg
  • handful of dried mealworms or crickets
  • 1 teaspoon salmon oil

Preperation

Put the CDV together with the egg and the salmon oil in a bowl and knead it into a dough-like mixture. Add the insects and gnaw the whole thing again so that all insects are evenly distributed. Using a tablespoon, remove a little bit of the mixture from the bowl at a time and roll it into small balls. You can boil the balls, fry them in olive oil or freeze them immediately. Store in the freezer for up to three months.
